Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for our Glens Falls New York Technology Center located at the foothills of the Adirondacks in close proximity to scenic Lake George, New York, historic Saratoga Springs and within a 50 mile radius of the state capital of Albany, New York.
Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:
Planning and conducting complex studies to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of the Company. Performs complex statistical, cost and financial analysis of financial reports and data, and prepares subsequent narrative analysis for management.
Essential Job Functions:
* Responsible for product costing/standard costing.
* Performs analysis of manufacturing variances and reporting of results to facility management.
* Participates in the preparation of the annual budget and the monthly costing cycle to calculate plant cost.
* Prepares timely and accurate budgeting and forecasting, internal management reporting and supporting analysis.
* Ensures that business goals such as cost reduction initiatives, working capital management, productivity improvement, and return on capital employed is adequately measured, managed and achieved.
* Provides analysis on new capital expenditures and make/buy decisions.
* Performs monthly reconciliations of the general ledger.
* Performs monthly financial close activities including updating and maintaining the General Ledger.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Access and Word.
Must be willing to relocate for career development opportunities.
Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:
Background in lean manufacturing/six sigma a plus
Education and/or Experience:
* Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
* CPA and/or MBA are highly desirable.
* 3+ years experience in manufacturing cost.
Physical Demands:
Work permits employee to remain seated with some fatiguing posture. Occasional lifting between 1-5 lbs.
