Overview:
We are looking for a Engineer II for our Glens Falls New York Technology Center located at the foothills of the Adirondacks in close proximity to scenic Lake George, New York, historic Saratoga Springs and within a 50 mile radius of the state capital of Albany, New York.


Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:
Experienced engineering resource to improve the competitiveness of the organization in a performance based team environment. Complete projects by utilizing team leader and project management skills to lead multidisciplinary teams


Essential Job Functions:

* Provide process expertise for the Glens Falls Operation PTA manufacturing teams.
* Participate in and support the facility’s Quality and Management System.
* Design, develop, qualify, and validate manufacturing processes and tooling/equipment to drive continuous improvement, improved safety and cost reductions.
* Utilize project management and team leader skills to lead multi-disciplinary project teams to achieve results.
* Manage multiple projects.
* Leads and manage the full scope of projects. Examples include:
* Design transfers, on loads/off loads, maintenance of business projects, continuous improvement projects.
* Generates technical drawings and associated documentation.
* Author technical reports and change requests.
* Develop and perform validation studies.
* Perform mechanical/electrical measuring and testing.
* Analyze process capability.
* Trouble-shoot processes, equipment and quality systems. Develop and implement corrective actions.
* Exercise independent judgment to perform job responsibilities, including taking a lead role in managing projects.
* Support the manufacturing teams through hands-on day-to-day support
* Provide sound engineering judgment and decisions.
* Other related duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
Project management experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent team leader and project management skills.
Excellent written, verbal communication skills.
Proven track record in managing and leading multiple projects to conclusion with measurable results.
Demonstrated understanding of process validation.
Experience in regulated industry.


Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:

6-Sigma certification
Experience in lean manufacturing


Education and/or Experience:

Four year degree in engineering
Minimum of three years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment


Physical Demands:

Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at files or work tables or bending, stooping or reaching and/or occasional lifting of light items (i.e. up to 30 lbs). May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes.


Work Environment:

Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.). OR occasional exposure to minor injury or other health hazard requiring some precaution
